Our Mission Statement "The ACSV is an autonomous body dedicated to the continued development of a prosperous private sector of the surveying profession which provides services of the highest quality for the benefit of society." Objectives of the ACSV Continuing education, scientific, and technical research - To provide and arrange programmes for the continuing education of the members of the Association.
- To establish, form and maintain a library and collection of models, designs, drawings and other articles of interest in connection with surveying or its associated callings for the benefit of the community and members of the Association.
- To conduct, research, promote, develop and advance the scientific and technical aspects of any matters relating to surveying or its associated callings.
- To collect, record, distribute, publish and disseminate information and statistics of any kind on matters relating to, connected with, affecting or useful to surveyors.
- To hold meetings and provide facilities for the reading of papers, delivery of lectures and holding of discussions and debate upon subjects relating to surveying and its associated callings.
- To facilitate the interchange of ideas with respect to surveying and its associated callings and to provide for the publication, dissemination and acquisition of information connected with such matters.
Promotion of Profession of Surveying and the Association - To conserve and promote the interests and status of the profession of surveying and generally to represent the profession and, in particular, the members of the Association.
- To foster, maintain and preserve the integrity and status of members of the Association, to promote practice, to repress malpractice, and to encourage actively observance of The Institution of Surveyors Victoria Code of Ethics and the Association's Guide for Survey Fees.
- To initiate, participate or assist in activities and schemes for enhancing the status of the profession of consulting surveyors and the general advancement of its members and to cooperate with other associations and organisations having similar objectives.
- To maintain and make available to the public an up to date list of member firms of the Association.
- To advance and protect the interest of its members as employers and in relation to any industrial matter.
- To promote and foster projects and activities which are in the interest of the surveying profession generally or in the interests of the members in particular.
Relationship with kindred bodies - To conserve, foster and maintain a close liaison with The Institution of Surveyors, Victoria.
- To submit for endorsement to the Executive Committee of The Institution of Surveyors, Victoria, the Guide for Survey Fees for Consulting Surveying Services.
- To cooperate with the Association of Consulting Surveyors of each of the States and Territories of Australia having objects similar to the Association.
- To enter into any arrangements with any government or authority supreme, municipal, local or otherwise, that may seem conducive to the Association's objects, or any of them and to obtain from any such government or authority the rights, privileges and concessions which the Association may think it desirable to obtain; and to carry out, exercise and comply with any such arrangements, rights, privileges and concessions.
